On being "religious"

I think I agree with Trinity

  1. If you absolutely need religion to be a good person, then you are not a good person. Human decency predates religion, its not derived from it.

  2. This is funny but it is true, a lot of religious people feel like they are "good" just because they follow a religious protocol.

  3. I aggree with this meme because there are many cartel and drug lords who pray to virgin mary for protection from being caught breaking the law. Just because they're religious, does not mean they are good because they still kill others.

  5. I would agree because religious individuals tend to become obsessed and extremists

  7. I agree because many people in this world go to church, pray to God and at the end of the day it's just hypocritical, if they damage our society, lie, step onto others to fulfill their goals, then being religious means nothing, it is just a mask to hide their true face.

  8. Haha, so true! I agree with the meme. People seem to think that just because they go to church and they are religious, they are automatically great people.

  9. This is SO true! One of the "worst" people I've met, like the ones who steal, lie, are malicious, etc. are "religious." I feel like they just use religion to alleviate the wrong they do and give them a peace of mind.

  11. Ironically people that claim being religious are the ones who have less knowledge of what a religion really is about... Good post!

  13. I agree with this post. Being religious doesn't mean you're automatically a good person. I know a lot of individuals that claim to be "religious" but have done some very bad things.

  14. Its pretty fun because many people use religion and automatically assume they are in the right or that they are above people who don't believe or do wrong. yet then some go back and do not practice what they preach. It is easy to say this is a great post and talk about how people who claim they are religious are not good. lets try not to forget how many people are in this world and how many of them are religious, because I can almost guarantee the majority are not "bad people", but as humans we tend to focus and remember the negatives first.

  15. A lot of people that are religious predominantly believe they're good people which has it's truth. However, as many past extremist groups have shown it is not entirely true. Even if in their eyes it's the "right" thing to do.

  16. I agree, theres people who go to church every Sunday, and preach about God but they never help people and are prejudicial towards others. There are people who are not religious but are always helping others and trying to make the world a better place.

  17. I agree! just because you practice religion doesn't make you a better person, or change what you've done

  20. I agree 100% on this. There are people who never go to church but they believe in God, help other people out and spread God's word. And there's people that go to church every Sunday, but they don't care about blaspheming other people, judging their family/friends or just doing bad things. But hey, they are "religious and good people" because they go to church every Sunday.

  21. I completely agree. I know plenty of people that claim to be "religious"and that just because they go to mass on Sundays and pray and that definitely doesn't make them a good person.

  22. completely true because being good means to have no evil within you so just because someone doesn't believe in a religion, doesn't mean that the person is bad

  23. This is so scary because this actually happened

  24. I think this is very true because you can be religious but still be a bad person. Just like going to church doesn't make you holy.

  25. I agree with this post because religious people, in example those who attend church or pray everyday commit sins in their life, which in fact does not make them a good virtuous person

  26. This is very true I could not agree any more.

  27. This is very true in a lot of cases. Manipulation at its finest, when you make others believe that you are holy and can do anything and everything.

  28. This is a very interesting video. Very intriguing.

  29. I mean it's completely true. There's a difference between being religious and actually having a relationship with God. A person that doesn't have that clear might act impulsively and be prejudicial just because of their religion!

  31. Definitely agree. Anyone can say they're religious, however having a relationship with God is totally different.

  32. I agree with this some people use their faith to excuse their bad actions

  33. 120 % agree. It can shape people to want to do good but it is not necessary to be good.

  34. yes , this is true , btw the woman is shock.

  35. I agree that being religious doesn't make someone a good person or not. Someone can say that they are religious but are hypocrites or they skew the scripture of the religion and twist it into their own meaning. I feel like there are many out there who use their faith to excuse their extremist actions.

  36. This made me laugh. I totally agree.

  37. Sadly many would disagree with this statement and that does bring about the lack of education that our not only our society but many other societies carry on with them. Ignorance leads to unhealthy fanaticism.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Simply because you say your part of a religion doesn't make you instantly good. You have to partake and exemplify the good qualities that define your religion in order to be the good in the world. Many bad people can be a part of a religion but not actually uphold its values.

  39. Brings of the concept of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of religion.

  40. I feel that if You follow Christianity to its true intent like Jesus did and not have any biases you would be a good person.

  41. I very agree with this picture, there are a lot of people that goes to church every Sunday and then on Monday they are stilling people with a suit and tie.

  42. This picture states the actual truth. I know many religious people that do not practice their faith throughout the day. I believe this can go both ways thought, meaning you don't have to be religious to be a nice person.

  43. This is especially true in the U.S. with the prominence of groups such as Westboro Baptist Church who constantly remind our soldiers that they will burn in hell for doing their job.
