Ever since the discovery of the Mesopotamian creation myth, Enuma Elish, there have been attempts to reconcile the creation record of Genesis with the views of the ancient Sumerians. In this presentation, Prof. Gore shows the important similarities, but also highlights the significant differences between the two accounts, and explains why the comparison should be important to us. ReplyDeleteInteresting to know
ReplyDeleteIt's incredible that this is the first written book of our humanity, very interesting!!
ReplyDeleteThis story, one of the oldest creations stories in the world, is quite interesting to compare with other creation stories and how they believe all life essentially derives from one being, most of the time a Maternal figure.
ReplyDeleteSo humans were created because the gods were lazy. Something I'll remember next time I feel bad about being lazy myself. It's also such an ancient creation myth yet so very well descriptive in the creation of the massive heavenly bodies and different zones/constellations. Do these gods love and protect humans though or are we just slaves to them...
