Interesting to watch this after watching Gandhi and reading The Case for Contamination. Its crazy how many people don't know what fundamentalist means!
There is something worth admiring about Fundamentalists which is their unwavering of faith, it may seem stubborn to some but to others it's called devotion.
Their devotion is commendable. However blind devotion can be just as dangerous as ignorance. Watching Malcolm X was was eye opening. Malcolm also learned his lesson of blindly following Elijah Muhammad. It was only when he went back to the source did he find the truth and he changed his message.
hi Claudia, I agree. See the next clip up that I posed on a Pentecostal Service. This goes back to Chapter 13 on the Way of Devotion and Ecstasy. In agreement with Edward, there is a difference between faith motivated by fear and faith motivated by love.
I feel that fundamentalists have a very strict way of imposing their religions and beliefs which is admirable but at the same time harmful for other religions as it creates conflicts. I think that more global education about different religions can change the way fundamentalists see things
Interesting video, it shows a different side of fundamentalism. This topic tends to be misunderstood. Overall, something that I could summarize from this video is that many of these groups act out of fear.
The lady has a pocket in her apron for a gun! What happened to turning the other cheek? These fundamentalists' have an interesting philosophy. They're very narrow minded and defensive, saying mosque and temples are "dangerous." Fundamentalists are more radical than I thought!
This video really shows how different fundamental ideas can be from the rest of society. Watching the video, i couldn't help but be shocked at how she responded to the prompts and how defensive she got.
Fundamentalists have a strict way of how to live the life and how they interpret other religions. I didn't know about this movement and how strict was. I think the video shows in a clear way the definition of this term through all the examples shown there.
