  1. This was a very intense scene. He was ready to give up the fight until his friend showed him that there was so much to keep going on for. Touching.

  4. I agree with everyone else :) I think this is a very courageous scene and shows some very different sides of the characters. Due to the current circumstances, the normally timid Sam steps up and shows a different side to encourage Frodo.

  6. This was a very touching scene and is a scene that shows us a very valuable lesson, hope should be the last thing you should loose. No matter how dark it gets, you must know that there is a chance for tomorrow to be brighter. Especially when you have people by your side that encourage you, like his friend.

  10. I love The Lord of the Rings. I remember going to every midnight premiere with my dad and my brother. This scene gave me chills the first time I saw it and again today! It really is so intense lol. I was always interested in the religious ideas behind the storyline. The underlying messages are awesome. Its also crazy to see that even Gollum might have felt something more than just evil in this moment.

  11. I never saw the lord of the rings but I like the message that It gives to its viewers; no matter how bad things get you must never lose hope, hope is what allows us to keep working for a better tomorrow. without hope, everything is lost.

  16. That was a close call for Frodo. Had Sam not come to his aid, who knows what would've happened to Frodo and the Ring. Sam delivers a powerful message that gives Frodo the strength to carry on and persevere.

  17. Very emotional scene. We all have that movie scene that well all love because of its message. Mine is personally from the black knight but this has a message that really resonates. No matter how much negativity that occurs in the world, there's plenty of good and that is always worth fighting for.

  20. Such a great movie, and such a great relation between their world and ours. So many values found in this film are values I find myself understanding more in my own life.

  21. First of all, Lord of the Rings trilogy is boss. Next, this is actually a scene that reminds me of a current issue affecting not just me and my friends, but I think those in our 20's-30's today. The idea of having children is something that has been planted in my mind since I was a child, it is part of humanity, it is part of growing up, and it is a stone in the path of adulthood. But, currently with the economic issues this country is facing, the climate troubles, the epidemic of hatred and violence towards minorities and women, has arisen the question of whether it is sensible to have children in a world that seems to be growing towards a peak of global chaos? And some have said they won't have children, others that they would adopt only, and I think for me, for someone who wants to or doesn't dislike the idea of having a child, the global chaos pushes me to be a better activist, to create change for the future child I would like to have because there is some good in this world and it is worth fighting for.

  24. I have not seen Lord of The Rings, but this scene has a powerful message demonstrating how important hope is. Never lose hope no matter how difficult situations may be because in the end any obstacle can be overcome with hope and determination. This is a scene we can all relate to.

  27. Watching this segment form the Lord of the Rings film in class nearly two weeks ago has encouraged me to watch or read the Lord of the Rings Series which I have not done. This scene provides a beautiful understanding on suffering and sacrifice. Furthermore, I love how they recognize we must be motivated by the good in the world and fight for that good.
