New Testament Canon

How the Canon of the Bible Was Formed

Published on Mar 31, 2016 The canon of Scripture refers to a standard or rule used to determine which books belong in the biblical corpus. In this short lecture Dr. Licona provides answers to the questions we've all thought at some time or another: Did Constantine decide which books belong in the Bible? Why is it that Matthew, Mark, Luke & John's gospels make it but not Thomas's, Peter's, or Mary's?

  1. Super interesting video, the presentation of the information was clear and it was nice to learn the source from where the canon of the Bible could have came from. This video just shows the constant discoveries and work done to learn more and more about all aspects of religion, including scripture.

  2. The mere fact that we still do not know where certain books and letters (of the 27 involved in the Bible) come from, boggles me. A book that has been cherished and honored for centuries and who it is written by lies a mystery. It's completely amazing to me
