  2. I am excited about this course as well. It's not like any class I've taken before, simply because it's about a topic, I feel, many don't like to touch upon. That's what I like about it though and that's what makes me want to become more educated about it. I don't know much about other religions so I hope to come out of this course more knowledgeable and more open-minded!

  5. This course was definitely an interesting one and I don't regret taking it at all. I will miss our many discussions and arguments. Thanks for trying to remain open-minded and instilling a similar open-mindedness within us throughout the semester, it's been refreshing.

  7. The video really was interesting when the narrator spoke about Dawkins. Dawkins is one of my favorite modern thinkers and I really value his opinion even if I disagree with it. That awe that many people in their deity I also experience when it comes to humanity and their qualities. I experience this awe when I wake up and realize that if we were one planet closer or one planet farther away from the sun that there would be no life on earth. So even scientifically the chances of life being supported are so low, that it is awesome. Studying religion is helpful in understand how previous civilizations view this unlikely outcome of life.

  8. I'm really glad that I chose to take this course. I definitely learned a lot more about my own religion, as well as about other major world religions. I really liked the discussions in class, since all of us have different prospectives on things. I would also say that this class has been great not just for the religious students, but also the atheists, since religion is an important part of most cultures, and knowing more about it makes one a truly well-rounded person.

  10. I believe we would doing ourselves an injustice if we did not at least attempt to look into religion. As humans we need some other type of substance, a hope, answers, etc. What better than to at least look into everything possible? Religion is one of those things!

  11. I think it is very important to study religion and not just the religion you believe in. Learning about more than one religion can open up the mind. Also, it can rid your mind of judgment. I chose to take this religion class not just because I needed a UCC but to learn and explore what is out there in the religion world.
