This one is very funny! I have also seen one that says: "Let's eat Grandma" versus "Let's eat, Grandma" and underneath, there is a caption that says: "Punctuation saves lives."
Man this really does justify how the semantics in each sentence can justify or change the meaning of a sentence. It makes more psyched when I take semantics this fall as a graduate student.
Wow! I love this, I've seen this example many times before, but it always amazes me. It's crazy how all the men said the same thing, it was pretty sad. I can see how this post can spark the fuel of some feminist. I don't think of it that way though. I can see why you always emphasis so much on punctuation. This post was pretty funny.
Love this! I definitely agree with the last statement "A woman: without her, man is nothing." This is so true, plus, a woman's importance doesn't ever need to be justified on the basis of a man's presence.
It is funny how punctuation can change the entire meaning of a sentence. I learned this when I was attempted to thank someone and wrote "No thank you" which seemed rather rude. What I meant to say was, "No, thank you".
I think this is a great example of just how important punctuation is. I feel that many times we take punctuation for granted because when we speak we "punctuate" through our tone of voice, pauses in our speech, gesticulations, etc. making us forget that when we express ourselves through writing, it really does make a difference!
Oh my gosh I loved this! It is so interesting to see the perspective of the two sexualities and how they perceive women. Also, I shows just how important punctuation is and how much it can change the meaning of a sentence!
This is funny (and true fellas)! I remember seeing something similar to this that was comparing these two statement: "Let's eat, grandma!" and "Let's eat grandma!" I thought it was so hilarious. It's true though, two of the same exact statements mean two completely different things when you add correct punctuation.
If you miss a punctuation in a sentence you can totally change the meaning. I thought this was funny because both the woman and man changed the meaning of the sentence to benefit their gender. Excellent!
This was entertaining-I've heard of the grandma one!! As soon as I read the sentence I was trying to punctuate it but didn't expect those answers! Given the choice, I wouldn't have emphasized a woman's 'importance' to the male gender but would have just added "A woman; without her man, is [just a woman without a man]"
I feel like this really speaks volumes on how men and women are raised. A lot of women these days are now being taught that they are powerful and should be self reliant while men are still taught that women should be submissive. This same comment can be said for how punctuation would be used in the same sentence verbally.
I really like this picture and its message, I view it as a way that a man need his woman and a woman need her man and together they can be anything. But I don't see how men are better than women or women better than men. A simple punctuation sign real can change a whole lot and make a big difference haha
This is hilarious! Punctuation is very important! It can change the whole meaning of a sentence. It also had an important message to it and showed how men and women think of each other.

ReplyDeletehaha. That's funny. Punctuation can entirely change the meaning of a sentence.

ReplyDeleteLove this! It is the battle of the sexes. Also, I love how it shows that small grammar changes can make a huge change in the meaning of the sentence.

ReplyDeleteI learned the hard way LOL Still its funny.
ReplyDeleteI have seen this picture before. Punctuation could definitely change the meaning of a sentence. This picture is too funny!
ReplyDeleteThis picture was funny but true. A single punctuation sign can change the meaning of an entire comment.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first one lol, but it's one sentence but the punctuations can make it two separate sentences
ReplyDeleteThis is so perfect. I will actually show this to everyone I know because women ARE powerful and should have the same or even more respect than men.
