I have heard this song before but never actually listened to the lyrics. I did some research and found out that the song is in reference to his trip on “acid”. I personally thought it was him going to his deity and asking how he was doing on life and with a particular scenario he was having on life. Laura Moralejo 5916722
At first, I could not help myself but wonder what this had to do with religion. I now realize that it actually relates to scientology, which views man as an immortal spiritual being. Kind of interesting, actually.
I really enjoyed listening to this song, although it was a little confusing and I really had to pay attention to the lyrics in order to understand. This song is about how he wakes up from his trip on acid. This has to do with morals because it is about how his actions were immortal.
Had already heard that song before but never actually payed attention to its lyrics and what they meant. Pretty crazy but pleasing to listen at the same time.
My uncle is a huge Kenny Rogers song and growing up I was forced to listen to a lot of his music. However I was surprised that I hadn't heard this song. Like a lot of Kenny's song this one had a deep underlying message but I found it funny that it was apart of The Big Lebowski soundtrack.
I had heard this song when I was very young, but rehearing it now is when you actually grasp the meaning behind it. Acid is a hell of a drug, apparently.
I find the chorus really cool! I have heard this song before, but its been awhile. I agree with a comment above that says "it calls for some self reflection."
Honestly, I do not relate this song to anything that has to do with the study of religion. In fact, I looked up on the internet to do some research about what is this song really about, and it says that he narrates his experience that he had taking the hallucinogenic drug "LSD". I think that the song has a very relaxing rhythm, and it is pretty calming.
Really dope song, just goes to show how music can provide connections to religious studies!
