REVIEW QUESTIONS
What are some of the attributes of God assumed by monotheistic religions?
How do some of these attributes, taken together, pose theological problems for monotheistic religion?
Although I grew up in a catholic family, I have always been open minded about different religions and the world as a whole. My dad always pushed me to be catholic, but I would consider myself atheist. I do believe in God and that there is a power over us, but I don't agree 100% with the Catholic Church and the actions it takes sometimes. With that being said, I have always been open to new religions and learning about them, and Hinduism is one of the ones that I actually admire and find very interesting. I once had a friend in high school whose family followed it, so I got to learn some of their ideals/rituals. Watching these videos just made me remember and refresh all I had heard before, and I thought these videos were very informative.
The concepts of deity are very intriguing. I particularly liked watching the clip about the Native American's ideas of deity. They believe in many interesting spirits that represent various scenarios. Every religion has its own view about a higher being, the only difference is what each deity represents to that religion.
Coming from a Catholic Background, you never really learn about other regions. I enjoyed these videos because they gave me an understanding about the concept of god in different religions. Panther ID: 5820958
I've grown up in a christian family for my whole life. I've always gone to church and never really learned about any other religions. Watching these videos made me realize there are many other religions in the world and I should have an open mind to them.
I found enlightening the videos on concepts of deities. In particular the video that stood out to me the most is the Hinduism one. I did not know that there were four Hindu denominations. I like learning about Saivism, Vaishanavism, Saktism and Smartism. It was cool to learn that they each believed in a unique deity that all in the end represent the same great being.
