I think it is fascinating that to play a certain song and a certain instrument you have to be trained and it is so exclusive. I am not a fan of possession and that sort of mystical thing (?) but I can see that this type of ritual is an art and is something so important to them that not everyone is allowed to play.
I was really into the music that was being played and could really see the woman as she was possessed and entranced by the gods and goddesses, and the animal sacrifice with its many steps in performing the ritual. My grandmother practices Santeria so I now have a better understanding at what it is that she does and why she does it.

I've honestly never heard of the Santeria religion until this class, so it was really interesting to watch the video and learn something completely new. Overall I really enjoyed it

I had always heard of the Santeria faith, but never was aware of any rituals, so this video was interesting.
